How to get the Homebrew Channel / Custom Wii menu
Ok, so people kept on asking me how I got my custom Wii menu, so I just decided to make a quick tutorial. First thing first: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE TO WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR WII.DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.If you follow everything as I do, nothing should go wrong. Credit to Wiibrew, for all of the files used in this video. Instructions: 1. First, download this zip file and extract the private folder to the root of your SD card.(According to your Firmware) * For firmware 3.Xu - 4.Xu download: bannerbomb.qoid.us * For firmware 4.2u ONLY download: bannerbomb.qoid.us 2. Download the hackmii installer zip, extract it, and move the boot.elf file to the root of your SD card. * hackmii installer zip download: bootmii.org 3. Now go to the settings on the Wii, and go to channels, and click SD card (For 4.2 just click the SD card icon on the Wii menu) * Click yes when it says to load boot.dol/elf. Then, Install the Homebrew Channel and Bootmii. 4. Now you will need to install preloader. My Wii didn't want to install it at first, so I had to downgrade the firmware then upgrade it again. If you are having trouble installing preloader, use the guide I used. * Guide to installing Preloader: www.gbatemp.net * Preloader download: chaoshq.de (Just extract these files, and put them on the root of your SD card). 5. Now, just download the Wii theme + Mymenuify app file, and extract them to the root of your SD card. * Wii Dark theme + Mymenuify app file download: www.mediafire.com 6.For last, go to the ...

@tonytoonce No problem. Glad it helped you out.
January 23rd, 2011 - 04:16
thanx man this was great
January 23rd, 2011 - 05:09
@CODxFUNxMAN this tutorial only covers 3.0u – 4.2u , sorry. I’m probably going to make a tutorial on 4.3u soon.
January 23rd, 2011 - 05:38
What is i have Version 4.3U?
January 23rd, 2011 - 06:37
@CODxFUNxMAN if you only want homebrew, and apps. Then an sd card is all you going to need. Just follow this tutorial, until the part where I intstall the hbc. The remaining part of the video, is if you want a custom wii theme.
January 23rd, 2011 - 06:52
What do u need besides a SD card for you to get homebrew? cuz i really need HOMEBREW!
January 23rd, 2011 - 07:23
FOUND OUT PROBLEM. i nEED IOS249 know where i can get that ? or can i get it a link?
January 23rd, 2011 - 07:37
@XxSkyfirexX4 Yeah, everything will reset to how it was before. Also, good luck with the wad install.
January 23rd, 2011 - 08:12
Well Wiiso dosent have it i barely found much on it xD besides a guide but it wasnt that good. Well im going to do the only wad install i could find which was on Utube but it erases priiloader i have reinstall. Thing is will it erase any cios’? cause u reinstall system menu so i have priiloader hack on (Example move disk) Will the disk channel just go back to the way it was?
January 23rd, 2011 - 08:36
@XxSkyfirexX4 try Wiiso .com , There’s lots of stuff there regarding hacks, apps for the hbc, and backed up games too. See if you can find it there.
January 23rd, 2011 - 08:53
I’ve found a WAD install version but it dosent have that awesome thing when u turn on ur wii and there is the wii with blue flames and stuff. Thats version is ver3 i think i had ver1. Kno where i can get wad install for that version?
January 23rd, 2011 - 09:08
@XxSkyfirexX4 LOL yeah, I wouldn’t format it either, just for a theme. See if you can try to install it the other way (via wad manager). I’ve never tried installing it like that, so I can’t help you on that one. But yeah, If you have any questions on my method, feel free to ask. I might not respond right away, but I’ll sure get back to you.
January 23rd, 2011 - 09:57
@CaLibUr1337 See that’s the problem there. The theme (the one I have in the description is for 4.1U. You have to create one yourself, since you have 4.1E, or if you search around I’m sure you can find one already made. Region matters when installing stuff like this.
January 23rd, 2011 - 10:04
@xMarth101x
I’m on 4.1E firmware. That same afternoon I had already installed HBC along with Preloader and Bootmii2 (Lucky I didn’t have it installed as an IOS or I would probably be screwed) Is there a way I can actually uninstall the theme and not delete the files manually off the SD card? I have read guides that involve BSOD after installing a bad .WAD but your theme is something different. (Can’t remember right now.)
Btw I find it strange I can still play games using Backup launcher
January 23rd, 2011 - 10:37
No way im am ABSOlutely NOT going to format xD. All for a theme. I might as well give up on this or install dark theme via wad manager which i will have to install priiloader again because it removes it. But then i could maybe install preloader and then do the theme ur way
. Thing is when u do it with wad’s do u get v3? but anyway i will probably just give up this is too annoying now -_-
January 23rd, 2011 - 11:09
That’s good that you backed it up. Now you can restore it again. I don’t see how things went wrong. You did every step correctly? Also, what firmware, are you on?
January 23rd, 2011 - 11:48
@XxSkyfirexX4 I meant, if you put mymenuify on the apps folder on the sd card. It could be, because you dont have Preloader. I personally don’t know how to remove preloader or Priiloader, as I have never tried, but I’m sure by formating the wii, you delete everything, and you can start again. (But you lose all of your game data).
January 23rd, 2011 - 12:21
What do u mean by extracting to correct location? ive installed a diffrent mymenuify and i still get black screen. Is it because of i have PRIILOADER not PRELOADER and its v4 not v29? this is rlly getting on my nerves -_- .
January 23rd, 2011 - 12:41
Well I just got the Black screen of death after installing the theme so I think it’s now bricked. I have backed up my Nand and thanks to pre loader I can still access the homebrew channel and apps.
January 23rd, 2011 - 13:05
@XxSkyfirexX4 If you got 4.1, and installed preloader correctly, I don’t see what could be going wrong. Try downloading mymenuify, from another source, see if that works. Also, make sure you are extracting mymenuify to the correct location on the sd card. (I’m sure you’re extracting it correctly, but it never hurts to check twice).
January 23rd, 2011 - 14:03
I am at 4.1u. Followed the complete softmod guide and im done that. I have Priiloader v4 OR V04 i forget. I LOAD mymenuify and i just get black screen. I need so much help . The reason i said i had it installed well….. xD i didnt actually install it yet i just did everything u said and assumed it worked srry. anyway so how do i fix this?
January 23rd, 2011 - 14:33
@XxSkyfirexX4 so you have never been able to use mymenuify at all? I thought you had already? You have everything installed correctly?
January 23rd, 2011 - 14:42
This still is giving me problems . I try to go to mymenuify and all i get is a black screen..
January 23rd, 2011 - 15:18
@1441Shadow you mean the Dark wii theme? No, not at all. Just be sure to install preloader and bootmii. Everything should go fine, if you do everything correct.
January 23rd, 2011 - 16:04
@xMarth101x oh ok one more thing will the darkwii thing brick the wii? or no
