Like before, Lums can be collected by collecting them, defeating enemies or freeing captured Teensies. Along with Rayman and Globox returning as playable characters, the Wii U version of the game allows players to control Murphy using the Wii U GamePad's touch screen. Murphy can perform various actions such as cutting through ropes, activating mechanisms, grabbing hold of enemies and assisting in gathering Lums. Certain levels also mix platforming for Rayman and friends with rhythm gameplay for Murphy.
