   Not necessarily. See, Walt created Oswald for Universal Studios. Universal then, in turn, fired walt for wanting more money and stole his entire staff. Ub Iwerks was one of the few staff members to stay with Walt because they were both long-time friends (since Walt’s first animation internship). Behind closed doors, out of earshot, Walt Disney used his greatest inspiration- a mouse- to create something bigger than Oswald. They created him together… but then Ub left to start his own business.
