After at least 10 years of Eggman dreaming of building an Eggman Land, he finally pulled it off in Sonic Unleashed by using Dark Gaia's power. And, as it seems, "EggmanLand" is an amusement park. This stage is as tough as nails. Every running stage was easy up to Shamar. Adabat's running stage showed that, yes, the designers can pull some dirty tricks on you, but EggmanLand is where they pulled out all the stops. Except at the very beginning and during the 2-D segments, you can potentially fall off anywhere. Does the ground look like it meets with the walls? Surprise! That's a perspective trick. Get up closer, and you'll see a bottomless pit. Those turquoise boundaries near the beginning, right after the opening stretch, are not invisible walls. They're merely ramps providing minimal assistance. Every sequence from the rocket and onward has a huge gaping bottomless pit below, so don't think Sonic is ever safe. Eggman won't make it that way. The Interceptor shows himself here too, for the second and final time. I don't know if he blows up for good or not, but I do know he's really annoying. Getting under 4 minutes 30 seconds here is not that hard once you discover the shortcuts and where you should use the boosts. Once you figure all that out, the hard part is surviving.
